Objectives

The UK & Ireland Tech Tour 2010 is keen to select emerging technology companies, offering innovative and unique products and services. Our goal is to accelerate the expansion and internationalization of promising companies around Europe and the rest of the world.

If your ambition is to impact the European technology landscape and to become a global player in your field, the UK & Ireland Tech Tour is for you! We will introduce you the right people and provide you the right exposure and network: get selected!

Only 30 or so companies will be selected to present. Therefore, if you do not get selected, this decision is in no way a judgment on the relevance of your business or technology, but rather based on the required balance of stages and industries that will be presented at the event. You will be able to benefit from the summit by participating at the Opening Dinner and meeting the delegates on that very special occasion. Finally, through your application and review by the Selection committee, your company will be exposed to the leading venture capital investors from the industry.

Benefits

If your company is selected, we will introduce you to an international group or professionals coming from leading technology corporations, venture capitalists and corporate advisors.

This event is by invitation only! Delegates are invited to the UK & Ireland Tech Tour for their professional competence, their international experience and their ethical values. Particular attention is drawn to the professional and functional balance of the delegates, including industry sectors and geographic coverage. Priority will be given to delegates from recognized brand name companies and past delegates.

A maximum of 70 delegates are invited. They represent professionals who are interested in helping companies and may help you to find strategic partners and/or financing.

Our event will be covered by international magazines, as well as the local business and technology press, offering your company great visibility and exposure. Our global partner Weber Shandwick will handle all PR activities.

Leading professionals from a number of industry segments have participated in past tech tours, including: Nokia, Ericsson, Microsoft, Siemens, Synopsys, Telia, Telefonica, Alcatel, IBM, Hewlett & Packard, Deutsche Telekom, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Dresdner Kleinwort Capital, Bear Stearns, SG Cowen, Sofinnova Partners, Endeavour Vision, Viventures, Intel Capital, Doughty Hanson, TVM, Redpoint Ventures, GE Equity...

We are looking for funding. Why is the UK & Ireland Tech Tour interesting for me/us?
A large part of the audience for your presentation is looking for investment opportunities. Local VC's with whom you have been talking for months or have rejected funding you company may suddenly start moving once they notice strong interest from international VC's. You will have the opportunity to not only present your company but also to personally talk at leisure with investors after or before your presentation as well as learn how to position your company, to make it more attractive for investors or make them eager to invest in your company.

We are not looking for funding. Is the UK & Ireland Tech Tour still interesting for me/us?
Yes, you will get the opportunity to meet and build relationships with top-ranking VC's, intermediaries, corporations, lawyers, and professional associates. If this audience is impressed by your company, they will spread the word about your company throughout Europe and the rest of the world, which may lead to partnerships, clients, talent, M&A opportunities or future rounds of financing for your company. In addition, there will be a lot of local and international media exposure.

Among the criterias are:
a. Uniqueness of technology, a solid business model, vision and the capability to execute the plan.

When will I hear if I am selected to present my company?
The Selection Committee will let you know if your company will be invited to present by early April 2010.

What are the chances for my company to be selected?
That depends totally on the quality and uniqueness of your company and of the quality of the registered companies. In previous tech tours an average of 250 companies submitted their profile, of which eventually 25-30 where selected.

My company is not active in the industry segments mentioned, can I still apply?
Yes! As long as your company has developed some form of unique ICT technology, we are eager to look at your company. We are NOT interested in pure IT consultancy or services companies.

I still have questions. Who can I contact about the event?
