The Swedish Tech Tour 1999
The Swedish Tech Tour (Swedish TT) took place on September
1st and 2nd, with an opening dinner on August 31st. The
tour covered more than 20 innovative Swedish in both
Stockholm and Göteborg. Highlights of the tour included
an opening dinner at Riddarhuset in Stockholm and a
special visit taking participants into the future views
of Telia Vision Center. Some 43 delegates come from 12 countries for this Tour, including Japan, Singapore and the United States attended the Tour.
The President of the Swedish TT '99 was Magnus
Berglind, an investment manager with Telia
Business Innovation (TBI), the venture capital arm
of Telia AB. TBI
establishes new businesses in new markets of strategic
importance, thus contributing directly to Telia's
business renewal, its growth and profitability. The
formation of Telia Business Innovation is based on the
conviction that information technology will
fundamentally change our society. TBI supports
individuals and entrepreneurs with technical competence,
business know-how and financing.

Selection Committee
A group of highly regarded professionals took the
responsibility of screening and selecting the companies that
presented at the Swedish Tech Tour 1999.
A selection committee is set up to ensure the independence of
the selection process. It is composed by experienced and
highly regarded senior professionals, from relevant
backgrounds and industry expertise, such as venture capital,
technology industry, investment banks, research and
specialized press.

INNOVATIONSKAPITAL
was founded in 1994 on the initiative of Chalmers University of Technology and
Investment AB Bure in order to invest in start-up and early stage companies. The
investment strategy seeks companies who are in the information Science and
Healthcare sectors, needing start-up, early-stage or early expansion capital,
and based in the Nordic region. Innovationskapital does not provide only
finance. They have a broad industrial and international experience in the market
segments. This enables them to participate fully in the development of the
company. Additionally, they have an extensive range of contacts in research
centers, universities, industry, banks, and international financial
institutions, most of which become critical as the company develops. When they
invest, they start the process of building a partnership with the entrepreneur
with the mutual objective of creating a large and successful international

NOVARE KAPITAL is a venture
capital company focusing on minority investments in small, fast-growing
companies in the Nordic region, specifically in the fields of information
technology, healthcare and production rationalization technologies. The business
